Co-creating and building a long-term partnership with the Tenure Facility

Who did we partner with?

Tenure Facility partners with Indigenous Peoples, Afro-descendant Peoples, and local communities to secure their land and forest rights. By providing direct financial and technical support, they help strengthen governance, protect critical ecosystems, and advance global climate and biodiversity goals.

What was the challenge?

In anticipation of transformational funding, Tenure Facility needed to expand their headcount across Latin America and the Amazon region to ensure they would be funding ready. Requiring a recruitment partner that would be able to utilise their wide-reaching networks, generate early interest for the upcoming roles, and have a multi-lingual team, Tenure Facility turned to Upsall International.

What was our solution?

Upsall International proposed a co-create recruitment plan, knowing that a tailored partnership would yield the strongest pool of candidates.

Through a series of initiatives, Upsall International, together with Tenure Facility, built a regionally focused talent pool, hosted stakeholder calls with key members of land rights organisations, benchmarked salaries and surveyed staff. Our openness to this joint approach ensured a context-based and inclusive search process, with clearly refined role profiles.

What was the result?

To date, we have partnered with Tenure Facility to appoint 5 candidates into Latin America and Amazon-based roles, including an Amazon Regional Programme Officer, a Regional Analysis and Learning Officer, and 2 Financial Controllers. Our curated talent pool of warm, engaged candidates not only helped secure these appointments but also enabled us to move quickly on subsequent recruitment needs. This collaborative approach has since extended beyond the co-create model, with Upsall International now supporting the appointment of two new members of their growing development team. In turn, this partnership has helped us deepen our networks and sector insight across Latin America and the Amazon basin countries.
