Private Sector Fundraising Assessments in Asia
for UNICEF

Who did we partner with?

UNICEF, the UN agency that provides humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide, works in over 190 countries to protect children’s rights, ensure education, health, nutrition, and respond to emergencies and long-term needs.

What was the challenge?

UNICEF wished to explore private sector fundraising opportunities in various Asian markets to gain insights on the potential to leverage support for children. A robust review was required by Upsall International.

What was our solution?

Upsall International conducted comprehensive market assessments to clarify market environments, income potential and challenges, and proposed plans and strategic recommendations.

We carried out in-depth research using market data and comparable non-profit organisations to determine potential growth areas. Working closely with UNICEF teams, we reviewed fundraising activities, local networks, and explored relevant strategies.

Critically, UNICEF’s national and regional leadership were involved throughout to ensure insights and conclusions were aligned prior to proposing recommendations.

What was the result?

The market assessments provided UNICEF with market information and a synthesis of risks, priorities, and recommendations to consider on next steps.

In cases, the projects laid the groundwork for new private sector fundraising growth and equipped national teams with a business case, funding prospects, and an action plan.
