Background
Greenpeace Nordic is part of an independent global campaigning network, which uses peaceful, creative confrontation to expose environmental problems and develop solutions for a green and peaceful future.
Our vision is for a greener, fairer, safer planet, one that can sustain life for generations to come. We cannot build this future alone, but we can build it together. If you are passionate about defending the natural world and creating positive change, then we want to hear from you.
Greenpeace exists because this fragile earth deserves a voice. It needs solutions. It needs change. It needs action. It needs you.
Purpose of role
We are living through a decisive chapter in human history. The climate and nature emergencies are accelerating before our eyes, yet people continue to rise, resist, and reimagine what is possible. At Greenpeace Nordic, this moment demands more from us: more courage, more imagination, and more action.
The key responsibility of the Fundraising Department is to maximise income from individual donors by inspiring and engaging them through building effective and committed relationships.
As part of Greenpeace's values, we do not accept money from governments, corporations, or political parties. We aim to ensure a cost effective, ethical, and sustainable fundraising base to meet the needs of Greenpeace in the Nordic region.
Our objectives are to:
- Achieve income and expenditure targets.
- Inspire and engage donors.
- Secure effective, committed, and long-lasting relationships with donors.
- Achieve a diverse and secure fundraising base.
- Promote Greenpeace's campaign goals and objectives.
- Broaden the appeal of Greenpeace.
The role of Capital Campaign Lead is responsible for initiating and deepening relationships with individuals and foundations capable of making significant donations to support the work of Greenpeace. The role is responsible for maximising major gifts by providing strategic direction for individual and foundational giving, while holding relationships and ensuring excellent donor stewardship. The primary responsibilities are relationship management, prospecting and solicitation, and donor stewardship.
You will be joining us at the start of a truly exciting journey: a €100 million global capital campaign to build a new Greenpeace ship and significantly boost the scale and reach of our work worldwide. This role will lead the planning and implementation of the Capital Campaign in the Nordic region, which will be a key driver for growing the major giving program. It's a bold undertaking, and we are looking for someone who shares our belief that boldness is exactly what the world needs right now.
The role can, as needed, provide support for Greenpeace's relationship with Postkodlotteriet, as well as towards the foundation work as part of the High Value Team.
