Background
Transparency International (TI) is the leading global civil society organisation dedicated to combating corruption and promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability worldwide. Founded in 1993, TI works through a network of more than 100 national chapters and an International Secretariat (TI-S) based in Berlin, Germany.
TI’s mission is to create a world in which government, business, civil society, and the daily lives of people are free from corruption. To achieve this, the organisation raises awareness of the harmful effects of corruption, advocates for systemic reforms, and collaborates with governments, businesses, and civil society actors to design and implement effective anti-corruption measures.
The International Secretariat provides strategic leadership, coordination, and technical expertise to strengthen the impact of the global movement. It also leads international advocacy, develops global programmes, and mobilises resources both for its operations and in partnership with national chapters and consortia.
Through research, policy engagement, and citizen empowerment, Transparency International plays a pivotal role in holding power to account and promoting integrity at all levels of society.
Purpose of role
Transparency International (TI) is seeking a Head of Development and Partnerships to lead the organisation’s global resource mobilization and drive financial sustainability. Working at the highest levels of the organisation, this senior leader will design and implement ambitious, comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure multi-year, multi-million-dollar commitments from major international donors and partners.
The ideal candidate will bring proven success in diversifying revenue streams, building strategic and high-value partnerships, and aligning fundraising strategies with organisational goals. They will be adept at setting a bold vision while translating it into actionable, results-oriented plans to advance TI’s mission to end corruption worldwide.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Development and Partnerships will provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership of fundraising initiatives. They will mentor and empower a dedicated fundraising team, while working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, senior management, national chapters, the board, and programme leads across the movement. The successful candidate will also strengthen TI’s internal fundraising capacity and cultivate external relationships that expand and sustain TI’s impact globally.
This is a pivotal moment for Transparency International, as the organisation advances its global strategy to address the evolving and complex nature of corruption worldwide. This role will play a central role in reimagining and modernising TI’s fundraising architecture, developing innovative funding models, and positioning the organisation for long-term sustainability in a shifting donor landscape.
