17 Oct Julie joins the European Climate Foundation!

The European Climate Foundation (ECF) is a major philanthropic initiative working to foster the net-zero transition and ensure a healthy, thriving planet for current and future generations. ECF supports over 700 partner organisations to drive progress towards the goals of the Paris Agreement, promote practical policymaking in response to the climate crisis, and broaden political and public support for climate action. The organisation strives for a positive, people-centred, and socially responsible climate transition in Europe and around the world.

The Executive Director for Strategic Partnerships is an essential role in driving ECF’s mission, so we are thrilled to announce that Julie Verhaar has taken on the position, joining the organisation to ensure robust fundraising outcomes and diversify vital funding sources.

Bringing dynamic international experience, Julie joins the European Climate Foundation to spearhead fundraising efforts and manage important relationships, as well as lead a dedicated team.

Upsall International’s Ruth Gardner led the search for the Executive Director for Strategic Partnerships position and is thrilled to unite Julie with the European Climate Foundation.

Of her recruitment to the ECF team, Julie commented: “I am looking forward to joining a dedicated team of professionals at ECF to contribute to solving the climate and nature crisis in Europe and beyond, as ultimately environmental crisis poses the greatest risks to peace, democracy, and prosperity.”
